St. Michael’s Theatre, Centre for the Arts is an organisation steeped in history. Officially re-opened in 1997, the centre presents plays, theatre, music, comedy and hosts exhibitions and workshops. The arts centre building is two centuries old, it's importance as a center for the Arts in New Ross is the focus of the new identity's concept.
Previously the organisation had no professionally designed cohesive identity, to reflect both their importance within the arts and their aspirations. The new Identity for St. Michael’s Theatre, Centre for the Arts, embraces the organisations creative, artistic and dynamic qualities.
The Identity communicates the importance of a ‘sense of place’ the Arts Centre holds within the community of New Ross, by reflecting the historical significance of the St. Michael’s Theatre building. The creative nature of the Arts Centre, is reflected by using a fluid, 'energised', hand written font type style.
The design uses red and black colours.
