Brand identity: With the recent downturn in the property market in Ireland, Nicholas Mernagh of Nicholas Mernagh Architecture & Chartered Building Surveyors Wexford, focused on creating a new identity for his company that would enable him to 'promote' and put a stamp on the vast array of work the company has produced over the last 12 years of buiness in Ireland.
The new corporate identity had to reflect the nature of the companys' activity, namely 'Architecture'.
Our client was specific about the words that he wanted to have included within the identity, which were: Nicholas Mernagh Architecture & Chartered Building Surveyors. From the brief, and also due to the quantity of words specified, it was evident from the outset that the identity would be typography based, as opposed to a graphic icon.
We set about exploring suitable fonts, the result is a strong architectural typographic solution using Pirulen as the main type style complimented with Futura.
The end result we provided to our client, is an identity that is modern with a strong architectural feel.
The original identity solution that we designed excluded the acronym NMA. At our clients request the acronym was added to the original typographical solution.
The new identity for the Wexford based architects, was applied to their new website which we also designed: www.mernagh.ie, following throught to signboards, newspaper ads, the company's Title Block for architectural drawings, business card, company letterhead and complimentary slip.
The images above are of the double sided business card, the letterhead, complimentary slip and signboard.
